Mike Camp, DPT, CSCS, PES
Dr. Michael Camp is a highly accredited & recognized Physical Therapist and Performance Enhancement Specialist. He graduated from the University of Maryland, with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Exercise Physiology. Upon graduation, he went to Osteopathic Medical School, then changed careers and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Having a Passion for Manual Medicine and Human Performance Enhancement, Michael pursued continuing education in Osteopathic Manual Medicine, and other advance manual courses. Michael trained in Tampa, Florida, rotating through several top Performance facilities, working with Medical Teams, designing and implementing post surgical elite programs, rehabbing, and enhancing the performance of Athletes from MLB, NFL, NHL, UFC, NBA, Pro Golfers, Tennis Pros, Collegiate Stars, and Olympic hopefuls. Michael earned his CSCS, from the NSCA, Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification from NASM, and other noted credentialed courses in Performance Enhancement.
Michael, also an author, contributes monthly to Muscle & Fitness, Men’s Fitness, and online at Muscle & Fitness.com discussing programs involved with Health, Fitness, and Injury Prevention. Michael has been featured in Muscular Development, Muscle Mag, and The Alpha Male Challenge. Michael was also featured on MSNBC, working with Professional female athletes and discussing his views on injuries in female sports and bodybuilding.
As a competitor himself in powerlifting and bodybuilding, Michael has Squatted 505, deadlifted 605, and benched 385, all raw and weighing 181 pounds. He also has been courted by many top pros to design their Strength & Conditioning Programs, and is flown across the country to consult about lagging injuries. Michael is recognized as someone who can train with the best and in many cases, set the pace when working along side top athletes.
Chris Algieri, MS, CISSN, NESTA
Christopher Algieri graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Care Science. After earning is undergraduate degree, he went on to receive his Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition (M.S.) at New York Institute of Technology.
He currently is finishing up his Pre-Medical prerequisite coursework while studying for the MCAT with aspirations of attending medical school and earning an M.D.Christopher is a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and a NESTA Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach. He has worked closely with many top combat athletes in Boxing, MMA, and Kickboxing. While completing his undergraduate study, Christopher competed in Full-Contact Kickboxing and went on to close an undefeated professional kickboxing career of 20 wins with no losses.
During his kickboxing career he accumulated many regional and international titles that culminated with two World Championship Titles (ISKA and WKA) in two different weight divisions.After retiring from the sport of Kickboxing at the age of 23, Christopher decided to turn to professional boxing. He is currently undefeated (14-0) and is looking to vie for the Junior Welterweight World Title.
Tony Ricci, MS, FISSN, CDN, CNS, CSCS
Tony Ricci is a highly accredited Athletic Performance Specialist and Sports Nutritionist. He has a lifetime of practice and academic study dedicated to health, fitness, nutrition, and sports science. At the age of 11 he began lifting weights and practicing martial arts.
He was a former competitive Olympic lifter, former Mr. Eastern USA bodybuilding champion and holds black belts in multiple combat disciplines. For the better part of 26 years he has trained, coached, and consulted thousands with varied objectives ranging from weight loss and improved fitness to Olympic competition. Tony has worked with professionals in Ballet, Figure Skating, Cycling, Modeling, Fitness Competitions, Swimming, Football, Powerlifitng, Baseball, Boxing, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial arts.
Tony joined Pfizer Inc in May of 2001 and currently serves as the Pfizer Nutritionist and International Health Ambassador for Healthy Pfizer. He travels internationally presenting on topics such as health, fitness, nutrition, and stress management. Tony directs Pfizer’s Weight Management programs, Healthy Pfizer Cafés, promotes Healthy Pfizer Resources, Lifestyle Improvement Programs and operates a Health and Wellness Blog for colleagues. He also provides colleagues objective specific exercise prescription and nutritional counseling, one-on-one and via Skype and Webx.
Tony is an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University in Brooklyn New York, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Wellness, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Science, Nutritional Biochemistry and Cardiovascular Heath. In addition, he is a Co- Founder of MY COMPETETIVE LIFE (A multi discipline Health/Wellness and Performance Enhancement Company). Tony serves on the Advisory Board and is a Fellow of International Society of Sports Nutrition, the Board of Directors and International Faculty of the Bangladesh Institute of Sports Science, and the sports Nutrition Committee of the American College of Nutrition. Tony is an accomplished lecturer, presenting nationally and internationally in Italy, Bangladesh, India, Turkey, and Taiwan, as well as to peer organizations including, ACSM, ISSN, ACN, AFPA, EUROPA, NYBGH on the subjects of fitness, wellness, sports science and nutrition.

Douglas S. Kalman PhD, FISSN, RD, FACN

Dr. Kalman has been involved in over 200 clinical trials and projects within the pharmaceutical, medical and nutrition fields. He has published over 50 abstracts and more than 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts. He is also a Co-Editor of one journal (JISSN) and on the Editorial Board of three Scientific Journals.
Dr. Kalman received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, Masters Degree from Hunter College – City University of New York and Doctorate in exercise and nutritional biochemistry (Health Research) from Touro University International. He is an Active Member and or Spokesperson with many organizations (ISSN, NSCA, APS, ACSM, etc.) and a co-founder of The International Society of Sports Nutrition (www.theissn.org). He has worked with Olympic Athlete’s (Nagano, Japan, Salt Lake City, UT, Torino, Italy and the upcoming London 2012 games) for Winter and Summer sports, professional athletes (i.e., MLB, NFL, NBA), musicians and music groups, combat sports (UFC-MMA), collegiate athletes and teams as well as Nike’s Elite Distance Racing Team (Oregon Project) and the general population. Dr. Kalman has edited four academic textbooks, contributed to more than five academic textbooks as well as two “popular press” books. He has been interviewed on various media outlets such as NBC, MSNBC, CBS Evening News, CNN, Discovery Channel plus others along with a host of radio shows.
Dr. Kalman is an Adjunct Professor teaching Graduate Sports Nutrition in the Robert Stempel School of Public Health at Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Florida. He is the Nutrition Program Consultant for IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida (www.imgworld.com) and a nutrition consultant to the United States Tennis Association, Player Development Program (USTA). He has taught at New York University, C.W. Post-Long Island University and Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Kalman is currently the President-elect of the Florida Dietetic Association. David K. Spierer, Ed.D, CSCS, CES
Director Science and Education
Dr. Spierer is currently an associate professor and director of the human performance laboratory in the division of sports sciences at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. He teaches future exercise scientists on topics of exercise testing, instrumentation and clinical exercise pathology. Dr. Spierer received his doctorate of education in applied physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2004. He is currently working on investigations of stress (video gaming) and cardiovascular fitness. Dr. Spierer’s research interests are in the area of fitness in people with Parkinson’s, cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system function in response to stress and exercise and the effects of exercise training in athletes. His research has been published and presented at national conferences. He is also the co-author of a new book on fitness entitled “Get Firefighter Fit.”
Farah Z. Khan, B.A, MFA, MS, (in Progress)

Farah is a certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant who is currently obtaining her graduate degree in Food & Nutrition and the Registered Dietitian (R.D) credential at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. Ms. Khan has a very diverse background; she has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science and an MFA in Illustration, and she worked in the IT consulting field for 6 years before deciding to pursue a career in dietetics. As an avid athlete, with a strong interest in sports, family and community nutrition, Ms. Khan intends to combine her passion in these fields through her contributions to the Family Fitness and Nutrition section at My Competitive Life.
